# AutoClip

> Open-source desktop app that turns one long video into ready-to-post short clips. Paste a YouTube or Bilibili link (or a local file), pick platforms, press once. Editing and rendering stay on your computer.

AutoClip is not a hosted clipper and not a chat-based editor. Version 1.5.0 ships a desktop app (Windows x64, macOS Apple Silicon), plus CLI and MCP that share the same pipeline. The software is free (MIT). Cloud models are billed by the provider you choose; an October 1, 2026 Apple Silicon Mac run of a 1h43m interview with creator captions and qwen-plus estimated about ¥0.09 for text-model tokens only, excluding cloud transcription, image generation and publishing-service fees. Local Ollama / LM Studio has no model fee.

Each finished clip is a publish kit: video, cover, title, description, tags, and a ZIP. Douyin and Xiaohongshu use an interview layout; TikTok, Reels and Shorts use a full-frame podcast layout; Bilibili and YouTube stay landscape.
